Berry Tennis Splits with Covenant at Home

ROME, Ga. – The Berry College men’s and women’s tennis teams split with Covenant College on Tuesday afternoon at home. The men’s team fell to the Scots 4-5, while the women’s team held on to earn the 5-4 victory.

The No. 3 doubles team of Rory Glatt and Matt Johnson earned the sole men’s 8-6 doubles victory for Berry yesterday. However, both the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams of Sydney Stone and Sarah Murray (8-5) and Emmie Cornell and Karleigh Dills (8-0) earned victories for the women’s team.

In singles matchups, Sara Myers (7-6, 6-3), Kathryn Barker (6-2, 6-1) Stone (6-2, 6-0) Murray (6-1, 6-1) and Dills (6-0, 6-1) each earned wins for the women’s team, and Ryan Miner (7-6, 6-2), Jordan Crance (6-0, 6-1) and Glatt (6-3, 6-3) each finished with wins for the men’s team as well.

On the year, the women are now 8-3 overall, while the men sit at 6-5.
