Men's Tennis Eliminated by Rhodes at SAA Championship

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Matthew Blakely and Griffin Davis took the top flighted doubles match, but the Vikings fell to Rhodes College 5-1 on Friday morning.


  • Matthew Blakely fell to Albert Vacheron at No. 1-singles 2-6 and 3-6.
  • Ritwik Chattterjee of Rhodes downed Griffin Davis at the No. 2 spot 4-6 and 2-6.
  • Ryan Miner fell to Andrew Morton 7-6 (10-5), 6-7 (4-10) and 0-2 at the No. 3 spot. 
  • Phil Lauture of Rhodes defeated Chase Gooding 0-6 and 3-6 at the No. 4 spot.
  • Jordan Crance was bested by Sean Hogan 3-6, 6-3 and 1-1 at No. 5-singles.
  • No. 6-singles between Daniel Alligood and P.J. Shaw was unable to be played due to weather. 


  • Blakely and Davis defeated Vacheron and Olivier 8-5 at the No. 1 spot.
  • Ryan Miner and Chase Gooding fell to Sean Hogan and Andrew Morton 4-8 at the No. 2-doubles spot.
  • Shaw and Lauture defeated Crance and Alligood at the No. 3 spot 5-8. 


  • No. 3, 5 and 6 singles were unfinished.
  • Griffin Davis was named to the All-Tournament team. 
  • Weather split the tournament into two locations, including Hendrix's indoor facility.
  • Berry closes the season 10-8
