Men's Tennis Defeats Lake Forest 6-3

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Berry College men’s tennis team defeated Lake Forest College 6-3 on Monday morning in Florida.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Griffin Davis (6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (10-8)), Chase Gooding (6-1, 6-0) and Daniel Alligood (6-0, 6-1) each earned a win in singles competition for the Vikings.
  • All three of Berry’s doubles teams also earned a victory over Lake Forest.
  • Matthew Blakely and Griffin Davis defeated Dan Pivonka and Ellis Lora-Arceo 9-8 (7-5) in the No.1-Doubles spot.
  • Ryan Miner and Gooding defeated Trevor Allen and Nick Zazove 8-6 in the No. 2-Doubles spot, and Jordan Crance and Alligood defeated Dragan Trivanovic and Nick Rehm 8-4 in the No. 3-spot to ensure the Viking’s 6-3 win.

NOTABLES:

  • With the win, Berry improves to 2-2 on the season.
  • Lake Forest falls to 7-5 overall.
