Shelby Hall was named Berry's graduate assistant coach for swimming & diving prior to the 2017-18 year.
In his first season as the assistant coach, Hall helped lead the men's and women's swimming and diving programs to fourth and third place conference finishes, respectively, with 12 swimmers named to the All-SAA team following the season.
Hall will also be pursuing his master's degree in business administration during his two-year stint at Berry. He comes to the Vikings after completing his undergraduate degree in kinesiology at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
Hall, a middle distance/IM specialist, swam predominantly Butterfly, Individual Medley and 500 Freestyle while at Southwestern. As a student-athlete, Hall was honored as a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) All-Conference swimmer in the 500 Freestyle in 2015 and 2017, in the 200 Butterfly in 2016 and 2017 as well as in the 400 IM in 2016. While at Southwestern, Hall also served as team captain for the Pirates for the 2014–17 seasons, earned CSCAA Scholar All-American honors was a Deans List honoree and received the Director of Athletics Academic Excellence Award in 2016.
Shelby is the son of Susan and Kyle Hall and has two siblings, Rush and Jackson. During his high school career, he represented Hoover High School in Hoover, Ala., where he earned four varsity letters, was a team captain and a member of the National Honor Society.
