Swim & Dive Closes Emmanuel Dual Meet on Saturday

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Freshman Dylan White scored 13 points for the Vikings, winning the 100-Yard Backstroke, but both the Berry College men’s and women’s swim and dive teams fell to a strong Emmanuel College program on Saturday. 

The Vikings’ women’s team were led by Chelsea Mazies, Josie Hadaway and Maggie Hogsed, who each finished with a first place spot on the day as well. Emmanuel's men swam four new pool records, but the Vikings responded with great competition that helped propel the Lions to those times. 

BERRY WOMEN STANDOUTS:

• Mazies: 1st place - 1-Mtr. Diving(178.12 points)

• Hadaway: 1st place - 100-Yard Butterfly (59.84)

• Hogsed: 1st place - 100-Yard Freestyle (54.25)

• Peth: 2nd place - 1000-Yard Freestyle (12:32.47)

• Brooke Boyd: 2nd place - 200-Yard Freestyle (1:59.69), 2nd place - 100-Yard Breaststroke (1:10.29)

• Berkeley Hawks: 2nd place - 500-Yard Freestyle (5:35.27)

BERRY MEN STANDOUTS:

• White: 1st place - 100-Yard Backstroke (53.92), 2nd place - 200-Yard Freestyle (1:47.32)

• Cole Beddingfield: 2nd place - 100-Yard Butterfly (54.33)

Berry will compete in their Fall Fest Invitational on November 17th and 18th.
