Women's Golf First, Men Seventh at Chick-fil-A Invitational

ROME, Ga. — Shooting a program-record 300 in the second round, the Berry College women’s golf team finished first at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational, while the men’s golf team finished seventh.

The women Vikings shot a two-round 609 (309, 300) team total to take the top spot, and the men’s team shot a three-round 907 (307, 300, 300).  Jori Hodapp was the top finisher among both Berry teams, finishing tied for second after shooting a 149 (75, 74).

BERRY WOMEN STANDOUTS:

  • Rachel Belanger: 5th, 152 (77, 75)
  • Tori Ramirez: 6th, 153 (79, 74)
  • Loren Kim: t7th, 155 (78, 77)

BERRY MEN’S STANDOUTS:

  • Peter Trask: t22nd, 225 (79, 74, 72)
  • Henry Jones: t27th, 227 (77, 77, 73)
  • Hunter Young: t30th, 228 (71, 78, 79)

NOTABLES:

  • On the men’s side, Oglethorpe took the top spot, shooting an 866 team total, with the individual leader, Jacob Arnett, also coming from the Stormy Petrels lineup.
  • On the women’s side, Methodist University’s Johnna Beehner shot a 144 to earn the individual title.
