Vikings place sixth at Royal Lakes

OAKWOOD, Georgia -- The Berry College men's golf team shot a final round of 300 and finished sixth of 16 teams at the Royal Lakes Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday. BC carded a 295 on Monday and posted a two-round tally of 595. Full results

Tommy McCloskey and Drew Kosko both tied for tenth place with 145 totals. McCloskey shot 73-72 and Kosko the reverse of 72-73.

Southern Athletic Association member Oglethorpe fired a 286 on Tuesday and its 578 score defeated Southwestern by one stroke. Tyler Gamil (71-68--139) of Southwestern was the event's medalist.

Washington & Lee shot the third best round of the day (291) and its 592 total leap-frogged Berry--which started the day in fifth place.

The Vikings return to action at the Golfweek Preview. The three-day contest begins on Oct. 12 at The Raven in Sandestin, Florida.
