Berry in 18th place at Golfweek Division III Fall Preview
Ryan Gambrell Shoots 78 To Lead Berry Sunday
Berry's men's golf team shot 323 in the first round of the Golfweek Division III Fall Preview Sunday at The Raven Golf Course in Sandestin, Fla.
The Vikings are in 18th place in the field after the first 18 holes.
Ryan Gambrell led Berry on the opening day, carding a 78 on the par-71 course. He is tied for 47th in the individual standings.
Berry's other four players all shot in the 80s. Alex Elmore is tied for 62nd after shooting 80, while Alex Irvin is two strokes behind Elmore and is tied for 74th place. John Hall is tied for 78th after shooting 83 and Jose Garcia is tied for 88th at 87.
Guilford leads the field with a team score of 290, just one stroke ahead of second-place Texas-Tyler. Rhodes (296), St. John Fisher (297) and Illinois Wesleyan (298) round out the top five.
Guilford's Noah Ratner is in first place on the individual leaderboard after firing a five-under-par 66. He is two strokes ahead of LaGrange's Hudson Keener,
The 54-hole tournament continues Monday.
