Gerald McRath joins the Berry College football staff for the 2015 season. He comes to the Vikings as part of the National Football Players' Association internship program.

McRath played four seasons (2009-12) for the NFL's Tennessee Titans. A linebacker, he recorded 120 tackles for his career.

A native of Powder Springs, Georgia, McRath had a stellar college career at the University of Southern Mississippi. He was twice named to the Conference USA first team and was the CUSA defensive player-of-the-year in 2007.

Following his playing career, McRath returned to his alma mater as a defensive quality control assistant coach. More recently, he was a graduate assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The NFLPA Coaching Internship is an opportunity, built in collaboration with the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), which provides former NFL players an in-depth, foundational coaching experience. Selected interns will be able to spend an entire season coaching on the sidelines of an NCAA Division II, Division III, or NAIA institution.
