Vikings Football Rises One Spot to No. 17 in Poll

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. — After securing at least a share of their second straight conference title and the program's first NCAA playoff berth, the Berry College football team has jumped one spot to No. 17 in the latest poll.

The Vikings clinched the SAA title after the win and a loss from Trinity on Saturday. By virtue of the head-to-head tiebreaker with Centre, Berry also clinched a spot in the NCAA postseason beginning on Nov. 18th. Head Coach Tony Kunczsewski and his squad will still have a chance to clinch the conference title outright with a win against Trinity on November 11th or a loss from Centre by season's end.

Berry was dominant in the outing, racking up 447 yards of offense and holding the Panthers to just 19 yards on the ground. The Vikings were able to lean heavily on the ground game, collecting 249 yards rushing.

Sitting at 14 straight games, Berry now has the third longest active streak in NCAA Division III and ranks among the national top 10 in rushing defense (58.0 yds/game) and red zone offense (0.953).
