Greer was named Berry's assistant baseball coach in July of 2017.
An Adamsville, Ala., native, Greer spent 11 seasons at Sparkman High School in Harvest, Ala., where he compiled a 292-178 record in his tenure. His Senators’ program posted 10 consecutive playoff appearances from 2007-2016, had four Final Four appearances and finished as the Alabama state runner-up in 2014.
Greer coaches outfielders, base running and helps with hitting. Off the field, he coordinates the Vikings’ strength and conditioning program and assists in recruiting.
Greer, who was named Alabama’s Class 6A Coach of the Year in 2008, coached 41 players at Sparkman who went on to play at the collegiate level. He has three former players currently in the professional ranks.
Prior to taking the reins of the Sparkman program, Greer was an assistant coach at Northwest Shoals (Ala.) Community College for the 2004-2006 seasons. Greer was a pitcher/outfielder at Northwest Shoals in 2002 and also at Jefferson State (Ala.) Community College from 1999-2001.
Greer is a 2004 graduate of Athens State (Ala.) University, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Education.
He is married to Sherri Nicholson Greer and they have two children, Reagan and Caitlyn
