Heard Drives in Two, Austin Solid in Relief as Berry Beats Tennessee Temple 6-2

Will Heard belted a home run and drove in a pair of runs to help lead Berry to a 6-2 victory over Tennessee Temple Tuesday afternoon at AT&T Field in Chattanooga.

Heard went 1-for-3, adding a sacrifice fly to his solo home run, against the Crusaders. Stephen Gaylor was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base, while Johnathan Stump also drove in a run.

Levi Austin earned the win in relief, tossing three shutout innings without allowing a hit. He struck out five batters and walked two.

T.J. Page started the game for Berry, pitching one and one-third innings before handing the ball to Carter Reese, who pitched three and one-third innings. Austin followed Reese, and Josh Dilbeck pitched a scoreless ninth inning.

Taylor Wilson took the loss for Tennessee Temple.

Berry, which improved to 11-11 with the victory, returns to action Saturday at Birmingham-Southern.
