Caroline Anderson, Casey Gray Earn Athlete of the Week Honors

ROME, Ga. - Berry College equestrian team member Caroline Anderson (So., Sandy Springs, Ga.) and baseball player Casey Gray (So., Lawrenceville, Ga.) have been honored as Berry's Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week ending Feb. 13th.

Anderson was named Female Athlete of the Week after a dominant performance for the Lady Vikings equestrian team at the show at Chateau Elan, hosted by the University of Georgia, this weekend.  Anderson won the high point rider for the show, earning first-place honors in both novice equitation and novice over fences..   The weekend's ribbon count for Berry was 10 firsts, 10 seconds, four thirds, three fourths, one fifth and four sixth-place finishes.

Gray earned the Male Athlete of the Week honor after he pitched four shutout innings for Berry's baseball team in a 3-2 win over Lynchburg.   Gray showed great poise in the first game of a twin bill scheduled for seven innings, scattering three hits and working out of a bases-loaded jam with a pair of strikeouts.
