Thomas Johnson welcomes five fresh faces to the 2025-2026 squad.
Kaylana CurryÂ
Curry makes the 130-mile trek from Lula, Georgia, to begin her career at Mount Berry. Her parents are Shelia and Neal Curry, and she has a sibling named Kylan. Kaylana graduates from East Hall High School, where she was a key contributor to the basketball team. Kaylana plans to major in nursing during her time as a Viking.Â
Izzy RamirezÂ
Izzy is from nearby Kennesaw, Georgia, and she is the daughter of Ruben and Victoria Ramirez, and she has four siblings named Ruben, Geneva, Vivian, Stella, and Lucia. Ramirez graduated from Mount Paran Christian as a proven winner, boasting three consecutive state championships in her high school career. Izzy plans to major in international business.Â
Jade LewisÂ
Lewis is from Atlanta, Georgia, and she is the daughter of Dhati and Angela, and she has five siblings named Trinity, Dhatu, Brayden, Nathaniel, and Briaiah. Jade's sister, Briaiah, currently plays on the basketball team as well. Jade recently graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University where she played basketball and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She graduated high school from Midtown Hish School, where she received the Presidential Academic Award in all of her four years as a Knight. Athletically, Lewis brought in a bevy of awards and accomplishments that includes Coca-Cole Top Athlete Award in 2022, First Team All-Conference in three of her years, and Second Team All-Conference in 2021-2022. Lewis also eclipsed 1,000 career points in her senior year. Â
Avery HuffmanÂ
Huffman is a native of Cumming, Georgia, and she plans to major in business in her time at Berry. Avery graduated from Denmark High School, where she attained a 4.1 GPA, while graduating with honors and being inducted into the National Honor Society. On the court, Huffman earned All-Region in 2024 and 2025, Teammate of the Year twice, All-Region Tournament Team, and All-County First Team in 2025. She was also awarded Kyle Sandy Fall League MVP. Â
Avery PayneÂ
Payne travels southwest to Mount Berry from College Grove, Tennessee, and she is the daughter of Jeremy and Stacey Payne. Avery also has two siblings named Addyson and Anna. In her time as a Viking, she plans to study business. Payne graduated from Fred J. Paige High School, where she earned a number of awards that include the John Maher Scholar Athlete Award, AP Scholar Award, and membership in the Science National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. On the court, she was named all-district in her senior year. Â
