MOUNT BERRY, Ga.— Sarah Wright led the Vikings with 13 points to as Berry stormed past Sewanee 58-46 in Southern Athletic Association play Friday evening in The Cage Center.
The Vikings offense was balanced across the board with all nine players who saw action scoring to push past the Tigers. Behind Wright, McKenna Lentych put up 11, Elly Callihan and Kenadie Lee each had eight points for Berry.
Berry's defense came to play as it had 38 rebounds with Callahan leading the team with 11 and Lentych with seven. The Vikings forced 20 turnovers
Wright and Lentych lit up the board in the second half with a total of 14 points for the Vikings. Going into the fourth quarter, Berry had a lead 41-30 and began stretching the lead from there.
In the last two minutes of the game the Vikings iced the game from the charity stripe, as Elizabeth Sierzant and Wright each made free-throws to clinch the win.
The Vikings will be back in action Sunday afternoon against SAA opponent Centre College with tip off set for 1:00 p.m. in the Cage Center.
