The Berry women's basketball team defeated Southern Athletic Association opponent Sewanee 52-23 Sunday afternoon at the Cage Center to improve their record to 9-6 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
 
                The Vikings started off with a strong lead in the first quarter leading the Tigers (4-10, 0-5) by eight points, 14-6, at the end of the first quarter, established a 24-11 halftime lead and never looked back.

                Freshman Sylvia Kahoro led the Vikings in points with 14, 13 of those in the second half, while freshman guard Kenadie Lee added eight points and led the team with seven rebounds.
 
                Berry hit the road next weekend for a pair of SAA tests when the Vikings visit Birmingham-Southern on Friday, Jan. 21 and Millsaps on Sunday, Jan. 23.
