Box Score GEORGETOWN, Texas — The Berry College men's lacrosse team fell to 0-3 on the year on Saturday afternoon, dropping a road contest at Southwestern University 16-8.
Southwestern improved to 3-0. Travis Hastings led the way offensively, scoring three goals on seven shots. Caleb Campbell and Samuel Fitzgerald combined for 13 saves in goal.
Southwestern controlled face offs and ground balls, edging the Vikings in both crucial statistical categories. The Pirates went up 4-0 before Hastings scored his first of the day. Berry trailed 11-3 at the break before cleaning things up in the second half. Berry and Southwestern each scored five goals in the second half, but the first period deficit was too much for the Vikings to overcome.
