BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Berry College men's and women's track & field teams sent a limited group to the Birmingham CrossPlex on Sunday to compete at the Emory CrossPlex Showdown.
After a long break, several of the field and sprint events jumped back into action. On the men's side, Tucker Smith and Mitchell Brice went 3-6 in the men's pole vault for indoor personal records. The duo is also highly ranked in the region following the meet. Roth Wilcox also earned a top-15 finish in the men's long jump.
For the women's team, Leighan Williams posted the second-fastest 60m time in school history at just .04 seconds off the school record. Kya Wiggins also set a school record in the women's 200m. Kamman Brown had a solid meet, placing fourth in the high jump for an indoor PR and tied a PR in the long jump finishing top-10.
Berry returns to action on Feb. 1 at the Sewanee Indoor Invite.
