Moore Hits Game-Winner, Women's Basketball Tops Juniata to Open NYC Shootout

Box Score

NEW YORK — Berry's Kennedy Moore hit a game-clinching layup with one second remaining on Thursday to give the Vikings a 47-45 victory over Juniata to open the NYC Shootout.

With the win, Berry improves to 6-4 on the year, winning six of the team's last eight games.

Eveline Parsons led the way, scoring a season-high 15 points on 6-for-12 shooting. Sydney Blankenship followed with 11 points. As a team, the Vikings shot 28.6% from distance and capitalized on 23 Juniata turnovers.

The Vikings trailed 26-21 at the half, but went on a 20-11 run to hold the advantage heading to the fourth quarter. Both teams played strong defense in the final period, but a pass from Madeline Sandman gave Kennedy Moore the open look for the game-winner.

The team wraps up competition in New York tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. against Grove City.
