ROME, Ga. — The Berry College women's basketball team cruised to a 55-30 win over Mississippi University for Women on Tuesday night, improving to 5-4 on the year.

MUW fell to 3-9. Madeline Sandman led the team offensively, scoring 15 points and passing four assists. Sydney Blankenship followed with nine points on a trio of three-pointers. 

Berry led by just one after the opening period, but went on a 17-4 run in the second quarter to hold a 28-14 advantage at halftime. The Vikings held MUW to just five points in the third quarter to effectively seal the win. As a team, Berry shot 45.8% from distance and recorded 13 steals. 

The team travels to New York on Thursday to take on Juniata and Grove City.
