Men's and Women's Tennis Fall to Ohio Wesleyan

HILTON HEAD, S. C. – Both the Berry College men's and women's tennis teams fell to Ohio Wesleyan on Thursday in the Hilton Head Island Tournament. 

The men's team lost 3-6, while the women's team fell 2-7. With the loss the men's team moved to 3-3 overall, and the women's team moved to 3-2.

Both the men's No. 2 and No. 3 doubles earned victories in the matchup, with Ryan Miner and Jordan Crance defeating Felipe Duante and Ryan Simon 8-1, and Matt Johnson and Clay Jones defeated Jake Volbers and Alex Lutz 8-4. Rory Glatt earned the sole singles victory for Berry, besting Pako Alevizopolus 6-1 before the match was retired due to Alevizopolus' illness.

On the women's side, Sara Myers and Sydney Stone finished the day with the lone Berry doubles victory, earning an 8-4 win in the No. 2 doubles spot. Stone also earned the sole singles victory as well, besting Myrl Reorns, 6-0 and 7-6 in the No. 4 Singles position.

Both teams will face off against Milikan University tomorrow, March 16, as the Vikings finish play at the Hilton Head Island Tournament.
