Men Fourth, Women Second After SAA Track/Field Day One

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Berry College Track and Field teams finished day one of the SAA Conference Championships with the men in fourth with 39 points and the women in second with 59 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Freshman Abbey Carrol led the women in the 10,000m with her runner-up finish. Vikings went 2-5-8.
  • Senior Ebenezer Agaro placed 7th in the men's 10,000m.
  • All Viking women competing in the sprint events set personal records.
  • Genesis Leggett won the women's Shot Put and placed second in the women's Hammer. Her marks of 12.13m (Shot) and 45.66m (Hammer) are new Berry school records.
  • Mitchell Brice, Ethan Caldwell, and Logan Pittman went 2-3-8 in the Pole Vault.
  • Elizabeth LaSelva placed 4th in the women's Pole Vault.
  • George Saboura placed runner-up in the men's Javelin with Alexa Bilsky taking third.
  • Quincy Watford and CJ Stone qualified for the 100m final. Stone also qualified for the 200m final.
  • Rory Fleming qualified for the final in both the 110m Hurdles and the 400m Hurdles.
  • Alex Killingsworth posted a solid time in the 400m after spending the majority of the season dealing with injury.
  • Danielle Patterson took runner-up in the 3000m Steeplechase. Freshman Meredith Hermann took 3rd with a massive PR.
  • David Shankles and Rhett Butler went 4-6 in the men's 3000m Steeplechase.
