Track and Field to Compete at Two-Day Emory Meet

By Rhett Butler, Sports Information Assistant

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. — The Berry College Track and Field Teams will be competing Friday and Saturday at Emory University's Woodruff PE Center for the 33-team Emory Classic.

“After having spring break and a weekend off, this meet will be good to get back into competition," head coach Luke Syverson said. "We normally don't see a lot of these schools, and there are usually good times that come out of this meet because the competition is so good. We are looking for strong marks because conference is coming up quickly. We should start seeing more of the benefits of strong training."

“Friday is mostly the distance events, especially the 4x800, something we don't do often, and the 10K, which will be a chance for people to get a mark for the first time. Jumps and throws will also be tomorrow. Danielle Patterson will be in the steeplechase, the event in which she is the reigning conference champion, and has the fastest time coming into the meet. I'm looking forward to it, and the weather should cooperate and provide us with a solid meet.”

Results will be posted after each day with a full recap to be shared on BerryVikings.com.
