Men's and Women's Tennis Best Trine University on Tuesday

ORLANDO, Fla. – Both the men's and women's tennis teams bested Trine University on Tuesday morning. The men defeated the Thunder 8-1, while the women earned the 7-1 victory as well.

MEN'S TEAM RESULTS:

  • The doubles teams of Matt Blakely and Griffin Davis (8-5), Ryan Miner and Chase Gooding (8-0) and Jordan Crance and Daniel Alligood (8-4) each added a win on the day for the Vikings.
  • Davis also defeated Trine's Spenser Gilbert 6-0 and 6-2 in the No. 1-Singles spot for Berry.
  • Miner defeated Judson Quinn 7-6 and 6-4 in the No. 2-Singles spot, and Gooding (2-6, 6-2, 1-0) added a win in the No. 3- spot as well.
  • Alligood (7-6, 6-2) and Branson Mann (4-6, 6-0, 1-0) rounded out the scoring for Berry in the Singles competition, ensuring the 8-1 victory.

WOMEN'S TEAM RESULTS:e

  • The doubles teams of Mary Cerny and Lauren Byrket (8-0), Sage Haurilla and Emmie Cornell (8-4) and Kelsey McCray and Karleigh Dills (8-4) also earned the sweep over Trine on Tuesday.
  • Cerny defeated Madison Hatkerich 6-1 and 6-0 in the No.1-Singles spot for the Vikings.
  • Byrket earned the win against Torah Brennan 6-1 and 6-1 in the No. 2-Singles spot, and Haurilla defeated Carlee Richardson 6-0 and 6-1 in the No. 4-Singles spot as well.
  • Cornell rounded out scoring with a victory over Kyra Brown to ensure the 7-1 Berry win.

NOTABLES:

  • With the wins, the Berry College men's and women's tennis teams are now 3-2 and 2-2, respectively, on the season.
