Women's Basketball Outlast Huntingdon 55-39

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Berry women's basketball team took home a hard-fought win against Huntingdon with a final score of  55-39 on Tuesday night, placing them now at 5-5.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• The Vikings dominated in rebounds (51-43) and assists (9-4) while also shooting 36.4% from the field  

• Rosie Lynch had an impressive night on the boards, notching a season-high 12 rebounds

• The Vikings also capitalized on turnovers, scoring 11 points on takeaways

BERRY STATISTICAL STANDOUTS:  

• Alex Weems: 11 points, 4-16 FG, 3-6 FT, 6 REB  

• Kristin Rampersad: 8 points, 2-4 FG, 2-2 3FG  

• Rosie Lynch: 8 points, 3-6 FG, 12 REB, 6 AST  

• Christine Cerezola: 7 points, 2-5 FG, 6 REB  

• Valerie McLure: 6 points, 3-6 FG, 3 REB

HUNTINGDON STATISTICAL STANDOUTS:  

• Jello Weatherspoon: 13 points, 6-16 FG  

• Jenna Dorman: 7 points, 2-16 FG, 3-6 FT, 9 REB  

• Hannah Parks: 6 points, 2-4 FG, 2-4 3FG

NOTABLES:  

• The Vikings defense held Huntingdon to a season-low 39 points in the contest, their best defensive performance in over two years.

• Berry handed the Hawks their first loss on the year. 

UP NEXT:  

• The Vikings will travel to Puerto Rico to compete against Rivier and Rowan in the Puerto Rico tour Dec. 28-29.
