Women's Basketball Prepped for William Peace Tournament

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Berry women's basketball team will head to William Peace University to compete in the Jackie Ammons Memorial Tournament this weekend as they look to build on their victory over Wesleyan on Tuesday.

OUTLOOK – BERRY COLLEGE VIKINGS

The Vikings had an impressive offensive performance on Tuesday, putting up 83 points during the win over the Wolves. Berry only scored 83 points or more in one game all last year, and were led by sophomore Alex Weems' double-double.

Berry also looked solid from beyond the arc, adding nine three-pointers and shooting 40.9% from three. The Vikings dominated the boards as well en route to the win.

The Vikings will lean on the play of Weems, Alex Kiernan and Nia Smith who all put up double-digit points on Tuesday.

The William Peace Pacers will enter the weekend 0-1 after dropping their first game of the year to Lynchburg College 82-62. Last season, the Pacers finished 7-18 overall and 1-15 in USA South play.

The Pacers are led by Nadine Ealey who put up 20 points against Lynchburg. Tyler Mercer also had a solid game, putting up 12 points and four steals.
