HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. -- Led by Caleb Johnson's 29 points, the Berry College men's basketball team won at Rust College, 84-63, on Tuesday.

The Vikings improved to 3-7; the Bearcats fell to 4-10.

BC shot 56-percent in the first half--and for the game--and held a 42-24 lead at the break.

Johnson was 12-of-16 shooting and made 3-of-5 three-point baskets. Owen Jacobs netted 13 points and 11 rebounds. Lee McCloud contributed 12 points and Alton McCloud added 11 points for the Vikings.

Berry had the edge in rebounds (41-23) and three-pointers (7-3).

O'Darius Lowe collected 17 and Pat Brown scored 16 for the Bearcats.

"We played well tonight, against a good team," said Berry Head Coach Jeff Rogers. "We look forward to getting back to conference play this weekend."

The Vikings host Birmingham-Southern on Friday night. Tipoff for the SAA contest is 8 p.m.
