ROME, Ga. - - Playing a full one hundred minutes, the Berry College men's soccer team fell to Wheaton College (Ill.), 1-0, on Saturday afternoon.
The loss dropped the Vikes to 2-1-2, and the win improved the Thunder to 2-2.
Both teams finished regulation play with no goals and the score tied, 0-0.
With less than a minute left in the first overtime period, Wheaton's Noah Gulley scored the lone goal of the game. Finding the back of the net on a deflected save off of Marshall Hollingsworth's shot, the goal ended the game with the Thunder ahead, 1-0.
The Thunder led the game in both corner kicks (4-1) and shots (24-2).
BC's Zachary Wroblewski took the complete game loss in the goal, collecting four saves.
The Vikings will take on Emory University in their next game on Saturday, September 19 at 2 p.m. in Atlanta, Ga.
