ROME, Ga. -- Rosie Lynch had 14 points, but the Berry College women's basketball team fell to Louisiana College, 74-60, on Tuesday night in the Berry Classic.
The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Berry, dropping the Vikings to 6-4 overall. The win improved the Wildcats to 2-6.
Lynch's 14 points led the BC offense. She was 5-of-9 from the field, sank three 3-pointers and grabbed four rebounds. Lynch also passed eight assists and had three steals in the contest.
Three other players had double-digit points for BC: Emma Cook, Zarriah Pierce and Valerie McLure.
Cook scored 12 points for the Vikes, shooting 5-of-16 from the field. She also grabbed six rebounds and passed four assists in the loss.
Pierce returned after missing five games to injury to score 11 Berry points. She was 3-of-4 shooting, as well as 5-for-6 from the free throw line.
McLure scored 10 points on the night, shooting 4-of-6. She was a perfect 2-for-2 from the free throw line and grabbed five rebounds for BC as well.
For Louisiana, RyDeja McQuarn scored 15 points. McQuarn was 6-of-15 from the field and sank one three-pointer for the Wildcats.
The Vikes trailed 42-32 at halftime.
The Wildcats shot 45.5-percent (30-of-66) to the Vikings' 40.7-percent (22-of-54).
Louisiana also led the game in rebounds (37-35) and steals (14-8). The Vikes passed 18 assists to the Wildcats' 17, but Louisiana forced 22 BC turnovers to their 15.
In the opening game, Birmingham Southern moved to 8-0 with a 64-56 win over Emory. Yorisha Bryant scored 21 points and had 13 rebounds for the Panthers. Khadijah Sayyid recorded 15 points for Emory (6-2).
The 2015 Berry Women's Basketball Classic concludes on Wednesday. Birmingham-Southern takes on Louisiana at 4 p.m. At 6 p.m., the Vikings host Emory.
