ROME, Ga. -- Savannah Morgan scored 29 points and 13th ranked Emory had a big second half as the Eagles defeated Berry College, 87-73, on Saturday.

Berry dropped to 3-3 with the defeat. Emory improved to 5-0.

Chanlir Segarra and Megan Walsh recorded double-doubles for BC. Segarra tallied a team-best 17 points and had 13 assists, a Berry College record. Walsh netted 11 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.

In a well-played first half, Berry led most of the way. The Vikes had a seven point advantage, before Emory rallied. The score was 44-44 at the break. BC shot 49-percent to EU's 47-percent in the first 20 minutes.

The Eagles kept the hot hand in the second half. EU started with a 16-7 run in the first 6:12 of the period. For the game, Emory shot 50-percent (37-74) to Berry's 46-percent (28-61).

"I'm very proud of my team," said Berry Head Coach Stephanie Dunn. "They are the 13th ranked team in the nation. They pulled away a bit in the second half, but we rallied."

Emory won the rebound battle, 42-36. Berry committed 17 and forced seven turnovers.

"I liked the way Valerie McLure played today," Dunn said. "We moved her to play defense on the point guard. We are young, we're learning and growing each game. If we play like we did today, we will win most of the games on our remaining schedule."

In addition, three other Vikings scored in double digits. McLure scored 12 points. EmmaCook and Mel McLean both contributed 10.

The Vikings play at Covenant next Saturday.
