Berry's men's tennis team closed its season on a positive note Sunday, defeating Huntingdon 7-2 at Berry's Richards Tennis Courts.
The Vikings opened with a 2-1 lead after claiming points in the top two doubles matches. Berry's No. 1 tandem of Logan Yerbey and Jonathan Surls defeated Zac Baldwin and Sean Jackson 8-3, while its No. 2 team of Ben Ortman and Steven Weeks defeated Tyler Creamer and Lee Howell 9-8.
Yerbey, Surls, Ortman, Weeks and Kyle Stapleton would all go on to win their singles matches and clinch the win for Berry.
In the No. 1 singles match, Yerbey defeated Baldwin 6-3, 6-3, while Surls defeated Creamer 6-1, 6-3 in the second position.
Ortman needed a third set to defeat Howell, eventually coming from behind to win 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the fourth position, and Weeks defeated Larry Pritchett 6-4, 7-6 in the fifth slot.
Stapleton's win came over Stacy Terry in the sixth position by a score of 6-4, 2-6, 6-1.
The Vikings finished their 2012 season with a 5-9 overall record.
