CLINTON, Miss. – Mississippi College defeated the Berry College women's basketball team, 91-57, on Saturday. Chanlir Segarra and Alexa Evans both netted 15 points for Berry.

Segarra added seven assists and four rebounds. Evans was 5-9 from the field and made all three of her free throws.

The Choctaws improved to 2-0 and Berry returns home 0-2.

Berry trailed 14-11 after Mel McLean (10 points) made a three-pointer with 13:15 left in the first half. MC then went on a 19-4 run over the next seven minutes to secure a 35-15 advantage. The Choctaws held a 50-24 lead at the break.

The Vikings out-rebounded the Choctaws, 37-36. Yet Mississippi College shot 54-percent to 36 percent for BC. Berry forced 12 turnovers, but committed 27.

Jasmine James tallied 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for MC.

The Vikings face LaGrange next Saturday in SAA/USA South D-III Classic in Demorest, Ga.
