Vikings Close Season With 73-64 Win

Berry's Tim Miles closed out his collegiate career with a double-double in leading his Vikings to a 73-62 win over host Franciscan University in the consolation game of the Division III Provisional Tournament in Steubenville, Ohio Saturday afternoon.

Miles led the Vikings with 22 points and also hauled down 11 rebounds to help Berry end the season with a victory.  Jonathan Abrams added 11 points for the Vikings, while Cass LeBlanc chipped in nine points and nine boards.

Miles was one of four Berry seniors playing in his final game Saturday.  Guard Kendall Gadie and forward David Holloman joined Miles in the starting lineup and scored eight points apiece, while Matt Mixer came off the bench and hit 4-of-6 shots to finish with nine points.

"I love our seniors," Berry coach Jeff Haarlow said after the game.  "They played with a lot of passion and energy today."

Holloman grabbed eight rebounds in his final game, while Gadie finished with six rebounds and four assists.

For Miles, the end of the game meant an end to a season in which he led the Vikings in scoring in all but three games.  He finishes his career with 1,283 points.

Franciscan's Flanagan Connor led all players with 23 points, and Thomas Kleinschnitz scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the tournament hosts.

The Vikings close the 2010-11 season with a 16-11 overall record.
