Miles Scores 25 in Berry's 79-73 Win Thursday

Tim Miles scored a game high 25 points to lead Berry to a 79-73 victory over Truett-McConnell Thursday in Cleveland, Ga.

Miles was one of three Vikings to finish the game in double figures in the scoring column.  Mac Whalen scored 13 points and Kendall Gadie added 11 for Berry, which improved to 14-10 with the victory.

Dedric Ware led Truett-McConnell with 23 points.  He was joined in double figures by Roderick Bombard, who scored 16 points, and Tulio Yamasita, who chipped in 11 for the Bears.

Statistically, it was a mostly evenly played game.  The Vikings outscored TMC by three points in each half, and outshot the Bears 49 percent (26-for-53) to 46 percent (28-for-61).  Both teams hit 8-of-22 three-point shots, and Berry pulled down one more rebound than the hosts, holding a 35-34 advantage in that category.

The difference may have come at the free throw line, as the Vikings were able to get to the charity stripe twice as often as Truett-McConnell. Berry hit 19-of-32 free throws, while the Bears were 9-for-16 from the line.

The Vikings close out the regular season Tuesday night, when they host Covenant at 8 p.m.
