Box Score Vikes Put Three In Double Figures, But Huntingdon Tops Berry 79-63
Three Berry players scored in double figures, but the Vikings dropped their ninth straight game to open the season Sunday in a 79-63 loss to Huntingdon in the consolation game of the Crowne Plaza Christmas Invitational in Memphis, Tenn.
Nasser Almulla led the Vikings with 23 points, while Michael Schulte added 14 and Lake Graham scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Cody Marsh, who, like Almulla, played all 40 minutes, also turned in a solid performance with nine points and eight rebounds.
Huntingdon, which won its first game of the season and improved to 1-7, was led by Ryan Petty's game high 26 points. He was joined in double figures by Jeremiah Thomas, who scored 23 points, and Jason Varney, who added 19.
The Hawks, who never trailed in the game, shot a whopping 64 percent (16-for-25) from the field in the second half.
Berry is scheduled to return to action Dec. 29-30 at the Papa John's/Country Hearth Inn Tournament, hosted by Centre College in Danville, Ky.
