Miles Nets Season-High 30 in 83-70 Win Saturday

Tim Miles scored a season-high 30 points as Berry defeated Young Harris 83-70 Saturday in Young Harris, Ga.

After a close first half in which neither team led by more than five points at any time and finished with Berry leading 33-29 at the intermission, the Vikings eased away from the Mountain Lions in the second half. Berry opened a double-digit lead on a jumper by Kendall Gadie less than five minutes into the second half that made the score 44-34, and but for a few brief stretches when YHC cut Berry's lead to nine points, held a double-figure advantage the rest of the game.

Berry led by as many as 18 points in the second half.

The Vikings (8-5) were dominant on the boards, outrebounding the Mountain Lions 44-23; and even though Berry shot a whopping 54 percent from the field in the game, it still managed to haul down 16 offensive boards.

Miles was 12-for-17 from the field, including 4-for-6 from 3-point range. He also grabbed eight rebounds.

David Holloman was solid down low for Berry, hitting 7-of-9 shots and scoring 17 points.  He also hauled down a game high nine rebounds.

Frank Adams led four YHC players in double figures with 22 points.  Matt Preston scored 16, Steven Viterbo added 13 and Bryson Robertson chipped in 12 for Young Harris.

Berry is scheduled to return to action Monday at Maryville.
