Ginger Swann has been a valued member of the Berry Athletics department since 1995 and oversees the Sports Medicine Department at Berry. She is responsible for four full-time athletic trainers, two graduate assistant athletic trainers and nearly 50 student workers.
In April of 2016, she was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director. In her administrative role, she is responsible for a leadership development program for departmental staff and student-athletes, serves as the sponsor for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, oversees an inclusive student-athlete well-being program including Title IX sexual assault, nutrition, and drug and alcohol education, and serves as the athletic department’s Title IX authority. She is also the Senior Woman Administrator for Berry College.
Her accomplishments at Berry also include earning the 2015 Berry College's Staff Martindale Award of Distinction and the 2011 John R. Bertrand Award for work supervisors.
A native of Rome, Georgia, Swann graduated from Berry in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education and a minor in Psychology. While she was an undergraduate, she played varsity tennis for the Vikings, earning All-conference honors and MVP for the team. She also served as a head student supervisor in the Athletic Training Department.
Swann completed a master's degree in Sports Medicine at Georgia State University in 1996. She has previously been employed by the Emory University Sports Medicine Clinic in Atlanta and has worked for Peachtree Orthopedics and Novacare in Atlanta while she served as a graduate assistant at Georgia State University.
