CHEERLEADERS
Thank you for your interest in Berry’s Co-Ed Cheerleading.
Kristin McCarthy and Ariel Williams are the captains for the 2011-12 year, and Betsy Qualls is the mascot/spotter student supervisor.
We are not a competition squad. No special skills are required -- appreciated but not required; just the love to cheer, the ability to get along with others and to have FUN. The squad cheers for basketball and volleyball games, Berry’s Half Marathon, and participates in many various on-campus activities. We perform during several half times and for the annual talent show during Mountain Day. The squad is involved with community service projects through the Athletes Bettering the Community (ABC) club which is for all the Berry athletes. It is a lot of fun and enhances the Berry community.
We have tryouts every fall and everyone has to tryout no matter how many years they have been on the squad; hence everyone has an equal opportunity to make the squad. The one exception is if a cheerleader will be captains for the following year. There are various forms that need to be filled out before the tryout clinics. The application on our web site will assist you in knowing and finding these forms.
