ATLANTA — For the second time this season, Berry College's Bayleigh Masterson has been selected as the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Softball Player of the Week.
Hitting .556 in the Vikings’ three contests, Bayleigh Masterson led the Berry College softball team to a perfect 3-0 week of play. Masterson hit 3-for-3 at the plate in Berry’s 10-3 game two victory over Hendrix on Friday night, adding two RBIs, a stolen base and two runs in the outing. She then added two additional hits in the Vikings’ 14-7 win over the Warriors on Saturday, finishing the contest with four runs scored, two RBIs and a home run. For the weekend, Masterson finished with four RBIs and six runs, rounding out the week with a .636 on base percentage and a perfect 1.000 slugging percentage.
On the year, she is hitting .407, ranking in the top five in three different conference categories, including batting average, RBIs (32) and home runs (6). Behind Masterson, the Vikings are now 23-3 overall, as well as 8-0 in the SAA.
Berry is back in action this weekend at Rhodes. First pitch of the series is set for Friday at 1:00 p.m.
